Unit coordination¶
According to the UTAS student portal, the unit coordinator
... is the staff member in charge of your unit and is typically responsible for planning the unit, setting the assessment tasks, producing the unit outline and coordinating the teaching staff for the unit.
In smaller units, the Unit Coordinator may also be your lecturer and/or your tutor.

Building a unit¶
Unit structure should be set in Akari Curriculum, and ideally, this would be the repository of all information. The problem is that changes to the content here require approval from the academic programs committee, and thus changes need to be made well in advance: typically 6 - 12 months, likely well before you plan on making changes. At least at this stage, there is a way to deal with this, but the plan is to shut the door on this process and have all unit content come from Akari. The workaround is as follows: - Enrolment material (official subject webpage) is generated using Akari - The unit outline is generated manually, and uploaded from MyLO and provided that any differences are highlighted, there shouldn't be any major issues. The reason that this is a workaround is that we still can add our own unit outlines to MyLO, and this feature will soon disappear, and unit outlines will be automatically generated from Akari.

Student allocations¶
Resources from MyTimetable
Allocations management through Allocate+, which requires access - along with general information about various administrative platforms which can be found here.
MyLO¶
You will need to manage the subject MyLO page. Formal staff Resources exist, or alternatively, you can find some barebones information on the MyLo page of this site.
Finalisation and submission of marks¶
Assessor's meeting¶
Students granted a Supplementary assessment will be given a grade of NS
Supplementary assessment¶
Students may be granted a supplementary assessment (often abbreviated to supp.) if an assessment may allow a student to demonstrate knowledge and competency thereby achieving an ILO hitherto not achieved.
The process of choosing, setting, and administering the supp. falls under the responsibilities of the unit coordinator. On the day that results are released, details of the supplementary assessment should be sent to the student(s), and these must be conducted within the following 15 business days. The likely outcome of an assessment will be an improved performance and a demonstrated command of the material, which would result in the grade being changed to P (pass) with a score of 50, or with a performance insufficient to demonstrate command of the material, the grade would be changed to NN (fail) with the score retaining its initial value. These changes must be officially recorded as described below.
Change of marks¶
Upon completion of ant supplementary assessment, a Change of Assessment form must be completed. Students must be manually added, and as far as I can tell, must be individually assessed for potential graduation (through MyAcademic) and a detailed justification provided for any submission.
In 2025, when completing the form, under the fields Head of School/Discipline/Delegate one was required to put Nathan Kilah and for Associate/Deputy Dean (Learning and Teaching) one should have put Stuart Corney.
